Nuclear attack from somewhere. Two weeks ago. We are cut off from communications. All comm stations just static. Last communication indicated enemy is using radar to detect missile launches and dispatch aircraft to deploy tunneling anti-bunker munitions. Enemy response times said to vary between 1 and 4 minutes depending on type of aircraft in the area. We have no idea if command is still functioning. We have no fire orders but missile is ready. We stay down below. Radiation levels on surface are too high. We can go out breifly, but if you stay too long you die. We try to maintain the silo but we are plauged with problems. The fuel system leaks and the control computers fail for no reason. We have plenty of food and water and we are getting power from somewhere. We know the emergency generator works. We have used it several times but main power somehow returns. 26-04-1995 A small fire forced us to the surface yesterday. A few brave souls perished putting it out. Radiation on the surface is better than being burned alive below. We went back down as soon as we could though. 2-05-1995 The radiation outside is very strong. We started to build a fence around the compound to keep us from going into the lethal areas, but we had to stop because the radiation was so strong. " End of excerpt. This map was inspired by the silo in the James Bond film "The World is Not Enough". I wanted a very interactive map following in the footsteps of Mawibse's "Mountain Hamlet".
