================================================================================================= Title : The Yard 2: Nuclear Strike Files : y2_nuke.bsp, y2_nuke.jrf Author : QS Email Address : quantumsaint@yahoo.com Homepage : http://members.xoom.com/the_page/hl Warning : You must have version 1.0.0.9 or better of Half-Life to play this map. Description : This is a smallish 2-4 player map designed for LAN play. It is baisicly the sequel of a map I did last year called "The Yard". "The Yard" went over so well that I decided to do part 2. This map (y2_nuke.bsp) is designed with a very similar layout but it is spread out a little bigger to give more room for fighting and more room for snipers. The hieghts on the towers have been increased and the overall size of the yard itself has been increased. Due to the size increase and the thickness (16 units) of the walls, some small visual glitches occur when looking from one side of the map to the other such as ladders (func_wall) being seen through the walls. This proved to not be that big of a problem during playtesting so it was left as it was. Also, with the size increase comes the addition of the bunker that resides in the middle of the map at ground level. This bunker is where the airstrike button resides. When the map first starts the button will not be immediatly accessible. When the button becomes accessible, a text message will be given to alert players of its readiness. Once inside the bunker, activating the switch will cause the bunker door to seal off. The windows for the bunker will stay open for a short period allowing opponents to take shots into the bunker with the weapons of their choice. If you are inside the bunker and have activated the airstrike, you will need to defend it to gain the three point bonus given for successfully surviving through the airstrike. All players outside the bunker (killed by airstike) will loose one point. The bunker not only awards points for survivng the strike but also awards a full health and armor bonus as well as a weapon bonus. If you are playing team play, its best to try and get all of your team members into the bunker before the strike is activated. This will give every member of the team a three point and health bonus but only the team member that activated the airstike switch will recieve the armor bonus. The r_speeds climb well above 500 wpoly in some spots so I would not recomend this one for intermet play. Weapons Included : 9mmAR, RPG, Shotgun, Crossbow, 357, Handgrenades, Tripmines, Snarks, Satchels Also includes a mounted mortar cannon (just like "The Yard"). ================================================================================================= --ADDITIONAL CREDITS-- Playtesters: David, Darrell, Merrit, David, Scott, and the Jumbot Special thanks to my brother David for all the imput and help with this map. If you enter the bunker with armor already on and you activate and survive the airstike with the armor you already had, you will not recieve all of the armor given (only to 100), so any left over will be left in the bunker.
