Deprive - Defusion by RWP80 (rwp80@hotmail.com) 30th January 2004 Briefing: Terrorists have gained access to a mountaintop research facility where an important shipment of arms and a missile are due for airlift. Counter-Terrorists are already on defensive standby at the facility. Counter-Terrorists: Ensure the safety of the weapon containers and the prototype missile. Terrorist forces must be prevented from using high-explosives to bomb these targets. Terrorists: Deprive international peacekeeping forces of either their prototype missile or their high-tech weapons. This will fumble their military political efforts overseas. These targets are only vulnerable to high-explosive C4. (Press FIRE to continue) De_Deprive is dedicated to my brother AJP88. Through his own curiosity for map design, he inadvertantly reawakened my interest in the art which gave rise to this map. I thank my brother FHSF99 for his patience, encouragement and for always exiting SimAnt to let me work on the map. I also thank Lao, Vinicius, and all the players at Yog Lan House, Aracas, Vila Velha, Espirito Santo, Brazil for their help in multiplayer testing and distribution of the map. I have experience in map design going way back to Doom, followed by Duke3D, Quake III Arena, and Counter-Strike. I also took part of the first year of a university game design course that included Quake III Arena map design as an assignment. De_Deprive is my first Counter-Strike map. De_Deprive Total Creation Time 'From mind to .BSP': Approx 50 working hours (including testing and compilation) I have a policy of only using textures, sounds and effects already included in Half-Life / Counter-Strike. This is to minimize map download time and simplify map installation. Although some features of this map may bear a distant resemblance to those of other maps, I assure you that all of my work is entirely my own creation. I ask that any comments regarding my design work, positive or negative, be stated clearly and politely. There is no need to be rude. NO bug reports please; I already know. This map, in part or in whole, CANNOT be copied into another map, manipulated, or commercially distributed in any way without my prior WRITTEN permission. I encourage that this map be FREELY distributed in its ORIGINAL FORM (de_deprive.zip). -- RWP80
