DOD_PEGASUS_BRIDGE BY ASHLEY J aka AGENT SMITH agentsmithbob@yahoo.com JUNE 6, 1944. NIGHT OF THE D-DAY INVASION OF FRANCE. The British 6th Airborne have landed near the Caen Canal bridge early in the morning as part of the massive airborne operations carried out in preparation for the naval and infantry landings on the invasion beaches. The bridge is vital in allowing both axis and allied movement around the beaches. BRITISH OBJECTIVE: The British have to capture the fortifications on both sides of the canal and by doing so capture the bridge. The British have established a foothold, ensuring they will not be completely defeated. AXIS OBJECTIVE: The Axis have to defend the two banks of the canal at all costs, preventing the capture of the bridge. The British have a foothold already, so the only chance for German victory is to stop the capture of the two banks. VERY BIG SPECIAL THANKS TO: THE DAY OF DEFEAT TEAM, KAMI, XERENT, H&K, THE SPEACIALISTS TEAM, THE COUNTER-STRIKE TEAM, AND MEDAL OF HONOUR: ALLIED ASSAULT (FOR SOME BORROWED TEXTURES). WITHOUT THE TEXTURES AND MODELS THAT THESE WONDERFUL PEOPLE CREATED, THIS MAP WOULDN'T HAVE BEEN POSSIBLE.
