Caravan (caravan.bsp) – by Dmitry (AKA "Dimmi64") An unofficial extended Attack/Defend version of Casbah (casbah.bsp) ------------------------------------------------------ 1 – INSTALLATION ------------------------------------------------------ Place the included 'maps' and 'sound' folders into your "tfc_downloads" directory, usually found at: X:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Half-Life\tfc_downloads If you want to play with bots, make sure you have FoxBot installed. You can download it here: https://github.com/APGRoboCop/foxbot Once installed, copy the "waypoints" and "scripts" folders from the “FoxBot support” folder into: ...\Steam\steamapps\common\Half-Life\tfc\addons\foxbot\tfc That’s it and you’re ready to go! ------------------------------------------------------ 2 – MAP INFO ------------------------------------------------------ I’ve created several custom maps for Team Fortress Classic in the past, including: MetropolisX (metropolisX.bsp), Snowbowl (snowbowl_r.bsp), Watchtower2 (watchtower2.bsp), Hollywood2 (hollywood2.bsp), NOT2FORT (not2fort_r.bsp), among others. Later I developed Avanti Part 2 (avantipt2.bsp), an unofficial sequel to Valve’s classic map Avanti (avanti.bsp). Avantipt2 represented a more mature stage of my level design, and after the very positive reception it received within the still-active TFC community, I wanted to create something new with a similar philosophy and quality level. While in "avantipt2" players leave the Avanti setting to explore new areas, Caravan flips the idea: here you *capture* Casbah itself. You begin in an entirely new area and gradually transition into the original Casbah layout, blending fresh design with Valve’s classic. Casbah’s asymmetrical layout made this concept possible, since there was never an official Attack/Defend map in this setting. Caravan essentially imagines what a “Casbah in the style of Avanti” would feel like. Most assets come directly from Casbah, though I modified some of the original textures by recoloring them for variety. A few sound effects are borrowed from AOE2, and a small number of textures were taken from Valve’s own Day of Defeat. Overall, Caravan was one of the most enjoyable maps I’ve worked on so far! ------------------------------------------------------ 3 – CONTACT ------------------------------------------------------ If you’d like to report bugs or make suggestions, feel free to reach out via the TFC-Reloaded Discord: https://discord.gg/Q2J2NN2sq9 (unless it’s dead, of course...)
