Kawasaka (kawasaka.bsp) – by Dmitry (AKA "Dimmi64") A Japanese-themed village, ------------------------------------------------------ 1 – INSTALLATION ------------------------------------------------------ Place the included 'maps', 'env' and 'sound' folders into your "tfc_downloads" directory, usually found at: X:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Half-Life\tfc_downloads If you want to play with bots, make sure you have FoxBot installed. You can download it here: https://github.com/APGRoboCop/foxbot Once installed, copy the "waypoints" and "scripts" folders from the “FoxBot support” folder into: ...\Steam\steamapps\common\Half-Life\tfc\addons\foxbot\tfc That’s it and you’re ready to go! ------------------------------------------------------ 2 – MAP INFO ------------------------------------------------------ I’ve created several custom maps for Team Fortress Classic in the past, including: Caravan, ravelin_ctf, metropolisX, avanti_pt2, watchtower2, not2fort, and many others. For months I've been planning a Japanese-themed, Avanti-style map for TFC, and then I started working on Kawasaka. It took me about 60 working hours to finish this map, with lots of level design planning, texture conversion, playtesting, and the inclusion of FoxBot support. I wanted to make a big map, so players could engage in combat without many obstacles blocking their way, and that's why it feels "open-ended", and that's by design. Some textures were outsourced from other Valve/GoldSrc games such as CS: Condition Zero, Day of Defeat and 007 Nightfire, but many were modified or created from scratch from free texture repositories. The skybox, and a few textures and hte 'conch.wav' from the popular maps "cornfield" and "osaka_r" respectively were also included, so kudos to Bryan Dillow. It's a big map, with lots of strategic areas for all classes, secret areas, and balanced gameplay. Hope you enjoy it. ------------------------------------------------------ 3 – CONTACT ------------------------------------------------------ If you’d like to report bugs or make suggestions, feel free to reach out via the TFC-Reloaded Discord: https://discord.gg/Q2J2NN2sq9 (unless it’s dead, of course...)
