----------------------------------- ICEHOCKEY By Data April 1 2001 ----------------------------------- This map made for TFC half-life mod. Installation- icehockey.bsp goes into the tfc/maps directory icehockey.txt goes into the tfc/maps directory icehockey_readme.txt goes into the tfc/maps directory puck.mdl goes into tfc/models directory ---General Information--- Filename : icehockey.bsp Author : Data Other levels by author : none as of yet, hopefully better ones soon. :) Email address : Data@mystarship.com Additional Credits to : The HOUSE OF PAIN clan for playtesting it. Visit their website - www.hopclan.org They are the best clan I have ever played with!! ---Play Information------ Map Description : Straight forward icehockey. Spectators can throw grenades into the rink! Map Objective : Score in the enemy goal. Scoring Information : 5 points for team per score, 2 frags for the scorer. Number of Teams : 4 Recommended # of Players: 10 upwards This isn't exactly a well rounded TFC map! Due to the fact that the rink is a big open area r_speeds are very high which means lag, especially for dial-up modems (what I have!) Obviously this map is only intended for fun, not for clan games or anything like that! ---Map Information------- New Textures : No New Sounds : No New Models : Yes, puck.mdl ---Construction---------- Base : From scratch Editor used : WorldCraft 3.3 Build time : 2 months on and off Compile Machine : A very slow PI 166 with 32 Mb ram (I am surprised I actually managed to compile it!) HLCSG time : 101.50 HLBSP time : 40.48 HLVIS time : 89.80 HLRAD time : 2175.87 Total compile time : 2407.65 40 mins 8 secs ---Additional Info for Designers------- Originally I planned on having different classes - HWGuy in goal and soldiers but there is nothing to strip the player of weapons. I could only take all the ammo away from the sniper due to the fact that none of their weapons have actual magazines in them, unlike the shotgun that some classes have. Also, for some reason the info_tfdetect (tf15e.fgd) was not working properly - according to information I have read you do not need to specify a class selection string, just the class limits toggleflags. This worked fine for the civilians but not for the snipers. I have no idea why, but I sorted that problem by using an older .fgd. I eventually worked out how to use Milkshape3D and made the puck model - It is just the ball.mdl changed slightly, but difficult to make anyway! ---Copyright-Permissions-------------------------------------------- Authors MAY NOT use this level as a base to build additional levels.
