Half-Life DeathMatch ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Title : ZGZ (aka Zero Gravity Zebra) File name : zgz.zip Game type : Half-Life Death Match Author : beer hunter Released : August 2004 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Information ----------- Sci-fi level set on a floating space station type thing, indoor rooms are normal gravity and outside bits are low gravity which allows extreme gauss jumping. Its a big open level which limited the amount of detail that could be put in the outdoor bits - theres a lot of stretched textures and simple brushwork to get the polys down. R_speeds are crud in a lot of areas and i'm not even gonna guess at what they average out at. The map was done for a competition @ www.snarkpit.com and there was a deadline, i ran out of ideas and time and theres some stuff that i never got round to finishing. Credits ------- Spaceship models - Fishy @ www.snarkpit.com Textures - Dr Brasso (can be downloaded from http://www.ejoop.com/ under Ribbed Textures section) Textures and other media - HL, CS, DOD and a few customs. Trouble Shooting ---------------- Theres a couple of areas on the high and low level domes with invisible walls. The sloping surfaces and low gravity also tend to kick players up into the air. Jump pads are a compromise - run into them and keep the forward key pressed down to get propelled upwards. Jumping up into them sends players much higher and may take damage on landing. The big jump tube (in the middle of the dome) must be jumped up into it to be activated, couldn't use the same method as the jump pads as there were problems with this. The teleport thing when peeps fall to their death and get transported to a weird tube was a quick fix to get rid of dead player models on the map floor - looks strange to see stuff floating at the bottom of the map. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Installing ---------- .BSP files go in \Half-Life\Valve\Maps .MDL models go in \Half-Life\Valve\Models\zgz .BMP and .TXT overview files go in \Half-Life\Valve\Overviews .TGA files go in \Half-Life\Valve\GFX\ENV ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Distribution ------------ The software may be distributed for non-commercial purposes only, the authors reserve all rights.
